I was fortunate to have grown up in a home where arts & crafts were not only encouraged but where a variety of art classes were taught by my mother over summers! I started creating jewelry back in high school and continued on to stained glass window design. I loved art and creating but ultimately graduated from college with a degree in Accounting and spent the next 19 years as a business consultant. It was a good life but creating jewelry was hibernating in the depths of my being, quietly beckoning.
In 1999 I met my husband and within the year I left my native Los Angeles/Venice Beach for the Upper Midwest. Friends said I wouldn’t last… Fast-forward to 2003, yet another frozen MN winter, I had just earned a Landscape Horticulture degree and was waiting for the snow to melt so I could get out and create landscapes. Needing to create immediately, I dug out some old jewelry supplies, bought some new ones, and with the support of my generous husband, Gabrielle Becker Designs came to life. Finished with the frozen north, we left MN in Dec. 2008 and now call Arizona home. I have a brand new palette of scenery to inspire me along with stunning sunsets to end each day.
I design my jewelry in a simple, elegant manner utilizing colors and styles that appeal to me. I am drawn to the amazing color palettes of the sky, the Rockies in the fall, snow laden evergreens, the Sierras in the summer, rugged California beaches, and the endless shades of green in Topanga Canyon after a cleansing rain.
I use high quality materials including fine & sterling silver, 14K gold-filled, authentic Balinese and Thai silver beads, unique Quartz & Agate stones, genuine gemstones such as Turquoise, Ruby, Aquamarine, Sapphire, Garnet, freshwater & Akoya Pearls, Swarovski (high quality Austrian) crystals and more. I enjoy searching shops and shows around the US and beyond for beautiful and unusual stones and focal pieces.
My clients desire uniqueness and quality workmanship which I work hard to impart into each piece I make. My designs are one-of-a-kind and limited edition. My pieces range from delicate gemstone earrings that make you feel sophisticated and sleek to more grand statement pieces that will set you apart from the crowd and feed you the power to take on the world.
